NUMERACY

The students inquired into the concept of percentage and learnt to calculate discounts. As a part of the summative task, they conducted sale on their toys and sold toys to their friends. A fun learning experience for them and it was amazing to see their enthusiasm.

Unit of Inquiry-Our Solar System

The students attempted their formative task on the first line of inquiry. They made song, model, poster and role play to show their understanding about solar system, lunar eclipse, solar eclipse, big bang theory, asteroid, meteorite. Here are some videos of their presentation.

Numeracy- My Piggy Bank

The students were given paper decimal money which they had to round off to the whole number. If they got it correct they would put the money in their piggy bank. The students really enjoyed and had fun along with learning the concept of rounding off.

Numeracy-My Imagination with 3D shapes

The students used imagination and creative skills to make different things using 3D shapes. Their work exhibits their understanding about the concept of 3D shapes.

Unit Of Inquiry- Inquiring Further

 The students further inquired into the solar system. They were shown a video related to the solar and lunar eclipse. The different phases of the moon were shown with the help of an orio biscuit. The students then researched about the solar and lunar eclipse and presented their findings and created a flip book to show the eclipse.

GOING FURTHER-

The concept of 3D shapes was very interesting for the students. The students were divided into teams and were asked to make 3D shapes out of 2D nets. It was fun filled activity for the students and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

The students inquired into various 2D and 3D shapes. The students examined different shapes and figured out faces, edges and vertices of the 3D shapes. Some students got a badge for determining the correct number of faces, edges and vertices of various shapes.
